End of recording

Well, after four days ensconced in a studio under the astute and watchful eyes and ears of producer Tim Duck recording the audiobook of BETRAYED, I’m happy to say 100,000 words covering an introduction, a foreword, 18 chapters in four parts, an epilogue, a postscript, two appendices, acknowledgements and an author’s brief bio are now in the digital can.

A further day in the studio has been set aside for pick-ups, and after that, Hachette (Australia) does its work distributing the final product to platforms and channels which carry audiobooks as part of their offerings.

We spent almost 24 hours in the studio, and it’s likely the final audiobook will be around 11 hours’ duration.
I enjoyed the process.
I became emotional at times during the recording and we had to stop, take a deep breath, and try again.
It’s a story which has been such a part of me for so many decades now that even simply re-reading my words into a microphone took me back to the struggle and despair the two Drug Grannies endured over the five years of their incarceration.
