I read your book over the last three days. At first I was a bit disappointed that the “travel” part wasn’t longer, seeing as we had travelled much of the same route only four years before the women did. But on reading further I now understand why this story is so important to you. The story about how the women managed in jail is written really well. It could have been a boring slog to read but you have added the ups and downs, joys and frustrations, and desperation they felt as the authorities strung them along. The reader never quite knows what will happen next. I’m not a big reader but I was captivated. What you did for those ladies and the time you invested in their plight is nothing short of amazing. I know you are prone to understating your role, and I’m sure it’s the same in this case. You can be very proud of your work. It is a great achievement!
